Mechanism and Experimental Study on Electrostatic Atomization Using Needle-Shaped Electrodes

The conventional pneumatic Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL), when not properly designed, may have poor atomization and insufficient wetting performance, resulting in higher oil mist concentration film formation ability the cutting zone. intervention of an external electric field can change mechanism microdroplets enhance lubrication cooling capability MQL. However, effect jet parameters on performance Electrostatic (EMQL) under synergistic multiple fields has been fully analyzed. In this paper, based designed needle electrode charging nozzle, medium mechanisms are investigated, a mathematical model volume average diameter droplets (VAD) is established. Based multi-parameter experiments, conical validated influence characteristics results show that VAD negatively correlated with air pressure electrical. was improved applied voltage condition, which manifested by obvious refinement VAD, maximum reduction 34.67%, 20% droplet group size distribution span (R.S.), different degree percentage fine particulate matter. addition, fitted well experimental values, overall error about 10%.
